Re: 2nd Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment, RCA - Nominal Roll - 17 Sep 1941

Hi, fascinating to see the nominal roll of 2nd HY AA Regt. from 1941 ... I'm trying to confirm my grandfather (i.e., Gunner W. A. Reed, D-7239) served with this regiment during the second world war ... he likely enlisted sometime in 1940/41 ... I remember hearing his stories about the 3.7-inch AA G...

Re: 13th Field, RCA - Locations of Interest in Holland and Germany

Maybe reach out to the Liberation Museum in Groesbeek as well, https://www.bevrijdingsmuseum.nl/ No idea as to the name of the hard copy book that your grandfather had I'm assuming? If it was a published book you could look into books published before X date on the subject to coincide when your gran...

Re: 13th Field, RCA - Locations of Interest in Holland and Germany

Also, if you find yourself passing near Lochem the Royal Canadian Legion #005 Club House is a great place to stop in with an amazing collection of artifacts on display in a room in the basement -- you'd have to inquire to see that part,

Sounds like it's going to be a great trip -- with some questions to answer.

In regards to the liberation picture, where did you get the information that this picture exists and the details as to it's subject matter?

Making it easier to identify veteran-led businesses on Google

Interesting stuff, Now, as part of a broader effort to use technology to help the veteran community, Google is making it easier to identify your local business as veteran-led on Google Search and Maps. Re: Fallen Warrior Hometown Search

What I've found out about the Canadian Fallen Heroes foundation is pretty awesome. They're basically going town by town in Canada compiling as much information they can from local sources (family, friends, archives) about fallen soldiers from that town, talk about a mammoth task!
