I am the daughter of Gordon Patrick Hurley and trying to find any information about my father's participation in world war 11. He was with the Cape Breton Highlanders and trained in Britain. His registration number was F-31774. Thanks in advance of any help someone might provide. Gail.

Hi Gail, welcome to the site. We can try to help you. A quick question, did Paul Squires (from another site) contact us in reference to Gordon Patrick Hurley??? I remember him asking about “somebody” about a month ago and I did help him with information. I’m NOT sure if it was Gordon Patrick Hurley or not. I just want to check, because if it WAS him, then I’ll go back to my files and post you what I’ve found

BUT, it it was NOT him, then of course we will give you all the help we can.

My second question to you, is have you ordered his military records from Library and Archives Canada yet?? If not, I can help you with a link to their site and help with the form you need to fill out.

Mr Hurley has to have been “deceased” for at least 20 years in order for you to see all his records (unless he was KIA during the war)

Follow Up Gail, I believe Gordon Patrick Hurley was the soldier I was assisting thru Sapperschild. I found his information on this site and it is the same man (I recognize the photo of him wearing his Glengarry”.
