Thanks for the heads up Temujin, I had F/L Donald Joseph Curtin DFC and Bar, quite interesting story, he was with R.A.F. No. 106 Squadron when he was Killed in Action., and best friends with Flight Lieutenant Joseph Charles McCarthy of the famed R.A.F. No. 617 Squadron "Dambusters"

Lancaster, W4886, February 25, 1943

Aircraft took off from RAF Syerston, Flintham, Nottinghamshire, England on a bombing mission to Nurnburg, Germany, Aircraft was hit by flak and crashed 1.5 km east of Neunhof, Nürnberg, Bayern, Germany. sadly all the crew members were killed in the crash, may they Rest in Peace !

Crew:
Pilot: Flt Lt D.J. Curtin (DFC), J/9340, RCAF, New York City, New York, U.S.A.
Pilot: F/O R.J.F. Windsor, 116092, RAFVR, West Kensington, London, England
Nav: P/O A.F. Lear, 139408, RAFVR, Newton Abbot, Devon, England
Bmb Aim: Sub Lt P.M. McGrath, HMS Daedalus, RNVR, Fawley, Hampshire, England
Wop/Gnr: Sgt V.E. Jack, 1187976, RAFVR, Bootle, Lancashire, England
Gnr: Sgt H. Rigby, 1244450, RAFVR, New Longton, Lancashire, England
Gnr: Sgt K.O. Court, 1393683, RAFVR, Downham, Kent, England

I am assuming that one of the pilots was doing the duties of flight engineer on this flight.

Appreciate the heads up on all of these Temujin !

Oh, by the way, the wife is very happy, I did not know about the Bomber Command Web Site, so it has kept me very busy checking all the info that I have is correct, which has kept me out of "Trouble" :-) LOL

Cheers
George
