Also have Catalina, AH561, August 13, 1942 listed as lost with the RCAF 413 Squadron, crew not listed on CWGC or CVWM, so assuming the crew might have been captured

My initial find on this is:
AH561 went with 413 Squadron to the Far East and was shot down by Japanese aircraft on 9 April 1942 while shadowing a Japanese carrier force off Ceylon.
But let me check further on this one to confirm as dates do not match

OK, I’m pretty sure it was this aircraft and crew. I haven’t been able to confirm the Aircraft No......possibly our resident expert Ludford will help with this:
9-4-1942
No.413 Sqn RCAF
Catalina I : QL-Y
Took off Koggala, 0256. At 0716 reported the position and speed of a large enemy force, but before his message was completed, was shot down by two A6Ms, which had taken off from 'Hiryu' at 0600, flown by NAP 1/C Hino and NA 1/C Kotani.
Crew (Alpha order):
645247 Sgt Patrick BOURKE RAF +

J/4699 F/O (Nav.) Robert Gibson HERVEY RCAF +
R/91031 Sgt John Kenneth HOOPER RCAF +
915310 Sgt Derek Laxton HOUSLEY RAFVR +

This South African record notes a “different” AC # than what you posted. Not sure if this is correct (the aircraft number).....again hopefully Ludford will be able to assist to make sure we have the correct aircraft

Temujin, Thank You so much for the info, I really appreciate your help, but that raises another question, how can the same aircraft be a write off, then later fly again ??? I am guessing that the aircraft was raised, put back together, and put back in the air:
Catalina, QL- F (W8434), January 2, 1942
Aircraft was taking off for a night solo flight in the area of Sullom Voe when it struck a beacon attached to a rock, the aircraft after striking the beacon, lost control and crashed, the aircraft was a total write off, but there were no injuries.
Catalina QL-F (W8434) August, 3, 1942
Aircraft attacked by friendly fire, killing one and wounding 3
