Private Joel Vincent Wiebe, 3 Bn Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry

In honour of Private Joel Vincent Wiebe, 3 Bn Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry one of three Canadian soldiers killed when their open-top unarmoured all-terrain M-Gator vehicle struck an improvised explosive device on the main road, approximately 40 km west of Kandahar City. The incident occurred while the soldiers were conducting resupply operations between checkpoints near a forward-operating base at Sperwan Ghar in the Panjwaii district.
