My uncle, Darwin Miller who served with the Regina Rifles and the Calgary Highlanders in WW2 just turn 98 yesterday. Some of his WW2 and photos from recently, Darwin is doing well, but missed the interaction with family over the past two years due to Covid restrictions.
Darwin was a Bren gunner, and was wounded at the Scheldt and Beveland
On this same Ancestry Thread, I’ve posted information on VERNON MILLER, who served in the US Army and was KIA at Anguar Island, Palau Group, who was Darwins Uncle, and my Great Uncle.

Re: Darwin Miller, Calgary Highlanders
I thought I’d post this information and photo. My Uncle Darwin, was honoured to be in the Honour Guard for HM Queen Elizabeth II in Calgary in 2005.
Darwin is still with us, he is 98 (will be 99 in Dec). My cousin visited him yesterday to tell him the Queen had died. He was very sad, and my cousin took these photo’s (they hand on Darwins wall)
In the photo below, Darwin is on the far right, wearing the Calgary Highlander’s glengarry. The article is about HM Queen Elizabeth II visit to Calgary

Re: Darwin Miller, Calgary Highlanders
My Uncle, Darwin Miller passed away last night, 5 Dec 2022. He died 1 day after his 99th Birthday (4 Dec).
Unfortunately because of the pandemic, I have not been able to see my Uncle in the past three years, the last time was at our Family Reunion, held in Aug 2019 Alberta Canada.
I will miss him
