Can anyone help with the following conundrum, I have two names attributed to the same service number and don't know which is correct, although I suspect it is the latter individual. The first is
R205981 FSGT WEIGHT J AIR GUNNER and the second is
R205981 FSGT VOIGT J AIR GUNNER his name is also spelt VOIGTT
The gentleman in question arrived at 78 Squadron, Breighton in December 1944 and remained with the Squadron until it transitioned to Transport Command in late April 1944.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Re: Confusion with RCAF airman
Doesn't match with how I would pronounce those names, but could one possibly be a phonetic mixup with a slightly odd pronunciation? Alternatively, a bad transcription from some kind of hand-written list?
If for example I only saw the Weight spelling once, I might lean to one of those options. If you see it multiple times, then a deeper dig required to unravel.

yes I suppose it could be. I'm hoping that somebody will be able to provide some detail perhaps from an obituary or newspaper article.
