F/O Allan Willson Troup J4760

Post by Paul Squires » Sun Mar 09, 2025 1:23 pm

Hi All,

F/O Allan Willson Troup J4760 was killed Dec. 12, 1941 in the loss of 22 Squadron Beaufort N1085 near Nantes in France. The three other RAF members of the crew were taken PoW.

Newspaper reports on F/O Troup state or imply he was mentioned in dispatches on two occasions before his loss. Can this be confirmed?

All the Best,

Paul Squires

I couldn’t find anything in his records indicating an award to MID

Hi Temujin,

As usual many thanks. The reports of mentioned in dispatchs are in newspaper reports, so need double checking.

There is a French website on this loss with photos of the crash, and the body of F/O Troup. Warning, they are graphic.
