Looking for the home town on W/O Class II W.B. Nichol, R/114904,
Lancaster, ED693, May 13, 1943
Aircraft took off from RAF Skellingthorpe, Lincolnshire on a bombing mission to Plzen, Germany. Aircraft was attacked and shot down by a Bf-110 night fighter. Aircraft crashed near Messingen, 7 km east-southeast of Lingen, Niedersachsen, Germany, five of the crew survived, but were captured and sent to P.O.W. camps, two crew members did not survive, believed killed in the fighter attack.
