Good Day All
Doing some research for a friend. His grandfather was awarded the MM and DCM DURING
WW1, Wondering if anyone has access to or knows where to find a copy of them. The LAC site for honours and awards does not list the MM and DCM for WW1 only WW2. I know there is a book on the MM's and DCM's for WW1, but have never seen it.
The following is what I have from his records on line from LAC:
Sgt. Baird, Andrew Reg. Number 438120 (at times in file shows also A38120, typo I imagine), served in 8th Canadian Infantry Brigade (90 Winnipeg Rifles). Awarded MM on 29-3-18, awarded DCM 28 -5 19. Service file shows he was wounded on 10 -11- 17 (Ypres area). The war diary for Nov. 1917, 8 CIB only describes the action that took place that day, no specifics. The 26 Dec.1917 war diary entry shows his name as well as a number of others who received awards that day but no specifics.
Any help would be appreciated.
